Questions about Kayaking Adventure Tours:

Q: What are the age limitations for guided kayaking tours?
A: All individuals joining us on a kayaking tour should be at least 12 years of age. Participants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/guardian with them to sign the Accident Waiver & Release of Liability Form. Participants younger than the age of 16 are required to have a parent/guardian go along with them on the tour.

Q: What is the difference between a guided recreational kayaking tour and a guided private kayaking tour?
A: A guided recreational kayaking tour is open to anyone that wants to enjoy the water. With that said, you should expect to kayak with others from all different ages and skill levels. On the other hand, a guided private kayaking tour is a customized kayaking tour geared towards you and/or your party. A guided private kayaking tour is an excellent choice if you’re not sure about kayaking with a large group that you’re not familiar with.

Q: How long do the kayaking tours generally last?
A: That’s a good question! We can estimate the time duration of a kayaking tour but it’s truly just an estimate subject to change. There are a lot of factors at play that determine how long it will take us to complete a kayaking tour. For example, the water level, weather conditions, group size, experience of kayakers and so forth all effect how long the tour takes. Estimated times are usually included in the description of the kayaking tours.

Q: Are the kayaking tours suitable for beginners?
A: Generally all of our kayaking tours are suitable for beginners. Safety is our number one priority at Conoco Kayak so we prepare all of our tours to accommodate different skill levels. However, this does not mean that all of our tours are easy. Each kayaking adventure tour is different but they all require our participants to be physically fit and prepared for anything.

Q: Do I have to wear a life jacket?
Conoco Kayak highly advises to wear the provided life jackets at all times.

Even our highly skilled and trained tour guides wear their life jackets.

We provide a variety of well-fitted US Coast Guard Approved life jackets that are

comfortable to wear at all times while kayaking.

Q: Do I have to bring a packed lunch?
We do not require you to bring a packed lunch, however; it is encouraged. Some of our longer adventure tours that last more than 4 hours receive a break period along the route. This allows time for you to stop, eat, and enjoy the scenery. If you bring a packed lunch we do not have a way of keeping it cold and it will travel along with you on the bus and in your kayak. Please make sure you stay hydrated while kayaking with us. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Conoco Kayak strives to protect the environment so we like to leave no trace while we are navigating through the wilderness. Whatever you carry along on the tour with you needs to go back with you. We will provide trash bags.

Q: What should I wear?
We kayak on some of the hottest days of the year so please dress appropriately for the weather and being outdoors. Remember there is always a chance that you may get wet or muddy. Shoes are required while kayaking on our adventure tours. We also advise wearing sunscreen and/or bug spray.

Q: Can I bring my camera and/or phone?

A: Yes! We actually encourage you to take pictures and share them with your friends and family. However, Conoco Kayak will not be responsible for any electronic devices that you bring along.
